So it's been a while...

It's Thursday night and I'm wide awake. I know I have to wake up at 6 - but I've neglected this blog thing for far too long. Here's a summary of things that have happened since I've last posted. I may miss a few dozen things... but oh well! I'll download the pictures this weekend.

1. St. Patricks Day - Had a wonderful weekend at Adina & Chuck's and of course, they treat us like family and we always have a blast there. Whether it's out to Sushi or just hanging around the house... a good time is had by all. We hung out, made traditional Irish fare and drank - what else is St. Paddy's Day for?! Not to mention, I worked up a little devilish side of Barrett. I think this picture is classic.

2. Easterish Weekend - Spent Saturday with Alesha & Crew as we tried on bridesmaid's dresses at David's Bridal. I absolutley love what she picked out and I can't wait to wear it. My aunt was kind enough to buy the clan lunch at OSF then it was off to the mall to push Gianna around while Alesha found shoes. She didn't find any - and the mall was slammed. I hate that Charlotte Russe store - it's always full of crazy, hormonal teenagers! Back to my Mom's and I gave G her Easter Basket (which, started a HUGE fight with Jesse). I hope she dug everything in it... I took a lot of time putting stuff in there. She was only 8 months old - so hopefully Alesha and Vince scarfed the chocolate! :)

3. Daisy at the tidepools. We were off early that weekend and drove to Laguna to walk around in the daylight. I hate winter hours because it's dark so early. To me, there's nothing like Spring. I wish it was Spring weather year round. Everything is just so crisp and clean (except for my house) but I love it!

4. My amazing pal Jen treated me to a nice relaxing weekend in Palm Desert. Just us - not men, no kids, no stress - just liquor, sun and shopping. What more could a girl ask for. It was a stressful month but this totally made it so much better. She's a great friend and we may not see each other often, but we never miss a beat and are back at it like no time had passed at all. Thanks Jen for a great time! PS - My Burberry is so yummy!

5. Kim's Dance Concert and Costumemaking Extravaganza! I don't even know why I get roped into the things I do... but I love it. My cousin is a senior in high school and participated and choreographed her Senior Recital. I spent the weekend helping her (or just doing it while she watched) and the following weekend was the recital. It was great to see what an amazing person she's grown up to be and I'm sad she's getting older - but it's fun to be involved in her life. She's soon off to Santa Barbara and she'll be missed!

6. My Mom and Art graced us with their presence a couple of weeks ago - to A. Pick up a tranny (LOL Transmission for Art's Bronco) in Hell (aka Hacienda Heights) B. Meet with our Photog. and C. To celebrate Mother's Day. I was so glad they were able to meet Shaun and dug his work. It makes me excited to see that they understand what we're looking for in wedding vendors. Between the tasting at Jay's and this - this wedding is sure to be nothing less than amazing! Thanks Mom & Art! Benihana was the choice for lunch and I had never been. It was quite entertaining to say the least - but it wasn't our favorite. Next...

6. Mishelle, Sue and JJ came up last weekend and visited for the day. We hit the Hurley Warehouse Sale where Mi did some major damage. That JJ, spoiled as can be - but he deserves it, he's such an amazing kid. He's always got me laughing. I love that when I look at him and smile, he smiles back and shrugs his shoulders - so cute!

So that's about it! Whew, I've got carpultunnel. Tomorrow marks Friday - TGIF! Jesse and I are going to a UL show and are quite excited then it's R&R through the rest of the weekend.

I'm attempting to maybe do a wedding blog since I'm not pleased with our wedding website - let's see if I have the time to do this! LOL

Have a great weekend!

XOXO

Hitched!

I have to say, when you hear a show called "My Big Redneck Wedding"... how can you NOT watch it?! I've started taping the series on CMT for kicks and I have never laughed so hard in my entire life. This is real kids, this is someone's real wedding and it's quite trashy, disgusting and more than anything comical. Here are a few of my favorite quotes so far:

"Mom, I can't find my teeth!" the Bride says. Her mom then replies, "Wanna borrow mine?!"

The groom is writing his vows and in the midst of a rhyme, a heartfelt sentiment and more he constult's his Granny on her opinion and while she says he's not Shakespeare, he replies "I can't think of anymore big words, I don't have a clitoris!" Obviously - he meant Thesaurus.

He urinates and deficates in public way too much and they love doing their paper route together. They do have two cute Basset hounds, but when they had their groomsmen wear John Deere tshirts and the bridesmaids wear orange dog tshirts... I about lost it.

For your guilty viewing pleasure - watch this show for laughs! From the beer can archway to the dress she ordered online that was an unbelieveable 20 sizes too small... this show has it all! This show actually reminds me a bit of an email I sent out a few weeks ago from Rachel. LOL

Friday Night Fave's

Okay - So this isn't a long blog but it will highlight a few of our favorite things:
1. Kristina - Febreeze Noticeables. I stumbled upon this product in Wal Mart because Jesse noticed that it elimiated mildew or allergens or something in the air and since our bathroom always smells musty, I thought I'd give this a try. No, my bathroom is not dirty or dingy - it's just not well ventilated. Let's just say, immediatly this product made a difference. So much of a difference in fact I ran to Target to buy more - one for the living room, one for the dining room/kitchen, and one for the Bedroom too! Granted, they are quite an expensive investment at $8 each, but NOTHING has ever made our place smell better... especially since Daisy's inside all day. I now don't need to spend another dime on a candle, potpurri or anything of the sort. Give this product a try - if you don't like it - I'll give you your money back!

2. Jesse - Dog Tales TV Show. He loves this show and it's our new weekend staple. In fact, it's started tonight. Jesse loves Daisy and he and Daisy love this show. It's quite ridiculous, but very cute. I love the fact that he sings all the songs but dosen't quite know the words. If it's on, check it out - it is pretty cute. Visit http://www.dogtalestv.com/.

3. Daisy - She absolutely loves Trader Joe's rawhide bones. I have to say, as a parent - 5 for $1.99 isn't bad at all considering the costs of other similar products. Our vet told us that rawhide wasn't good for your dog unless it was compressed rawhide, which these are. We love to give these to Daisy while we're watching TV, eating dinner, or to give her something to calm her down. Definitely worth the try - two woofs from Daisy!

Weekly Review

Whew - Where do I begin?! This past week has been long and exhausting with a few great moments mixed in. Last week I started out with the Stomach Flu which has eventually crept up to Jesse so while one of us is healing, the other is feeling uneasy. It's not fun and I definitely don't recommend it - but hopefully once it's gone, it's gone. The rain is finally gone and the sun has officially started to shine - which is a nice change. I actually got out of work early enough to drive home before the sun went down... I love it when that happens. Over the weekend we went to the theatre to see "No Country for Old Men" which should have actually been titled, "No Plot for a Long Movie". All of the characters were amazing and the parts were played wonderfully, but the plot left much to be desired. The best way I can describe it was that although you were two hours into the movie, you felt like you were smack dab in the middle of the plot. I do see how it was nominated for an Oscar (or three) but I don't see how it won "Best Picture of the Year". And once everyone got up to exit the theatre I knew I wasn't alone in my thoughts, everyone was gasping outloud and making comments on how weird that was. Oh well - To each their own! I should have snuck out to see 27 Dresses or Juno. On a wedding note, we went to our wedding tasting at Jays last Thursday which is UH MAZE ING! I really didn't know what to expect, but if anyone ever needs party rentals or catering - Jay's is your place. They are a full service catering company with facilities that are lickity split clean and organized. I think that everyone in attendance was pleasantly surprised and amazed at what they did and can do. We tried a little bit of everything but were able to figure out what we'd like to use for our wedding menu. Let's just say - you should hope you're invited to this wedding... it'll be one to remember (or so I hope!). Ha Ha.

Favorite New Find: Color Oops Hair Remedy - I saw this in In Style Magazine and definitely think that it deserved a try. A couple of months ago I colored my hair dark brown and much to my dismay and about halfway into the color processing - Jesse noticed that it was black. What? Crap! It was black! Ever since then the color had faded but there have been spots that have been lingering. So Sunday we went to Walgreen's (the only place it's sold) and for a mere $13.99 I prayed for a miracle that it would work and I wouldn't be running to the nearest salon. I just tried it, and IT TOTALLY WORKED! It took all the black color out of my hair, lightened my hair a bit to it's natural color and I'm completely hooked. I did laugh at the fact that on the instructions it noted that the color was not intended to repair "Crazy" or "Rebellious" colors. That statement made my black hair seem totally square.

So There Is Life Outside The Gates...

Our blog! Can you believe it?! I've been contimplating putting one together for a long time and I think that it would be a great way to communicate with our friends and family to let them know what's going on in our life and where life is taking us. I hope I can keep up with this thing - keep your fingers crossed!

Today was a really nice day, it's starting to warm up and the sun was actually shining - so we decided to give Daisy a bath and take her around the lake so that she could dry off and our apartment wouldn't smell of wet dog (I hate that smell). So after a quick stop for a coffee and a smoothie - we started to hit the pavement. Of course in hand besides our drinks are Daisy's water bottle, drool towel and water dish... Jesse was right, we do need to have a backpack to carry all of our gear sometimes. The lake was crowded with other people as we thought it would be... kids, dogs and families galore.

Jesse and I aren't ready to buy a home quite yet, but we've been talking about all the different places we have grown to like and although the condo's around the lake are nice, they still aren't what we're looking for. He was telling me that of course if I see anything I'll grab a flyer - why wouldn't I? I like to see what's out there. As we started to round the first corner we noticed an "Open House" sign and I was telling him that those units were definitley out of our price range - but then when he noticed that the realtor was "Jeana Keough" I quickly threw down my Starbucks and hit the ground running to see what the condo (ahem, realtor) looked like. Sure I wanted to see what a "Real Housewife from the OC" looked like in person, who would blame me?! Ha Ha. Actually, she was nice but a little stand offish. There was a gentlemen inside tapping at his laptop who told her that he was looking forward to the next season of the show - which I thought was quite tacky, although I wish I could have blabbed the same comment. I think it was obvious that people show up to her open houses to see a reality tv personality like I did and very few of them are potential buyers. I understand that it would be irritating, but if you sign up for a show and have a day job - you should expect that sort of outcome, right? I do have to say, she looked a lot better than she does on TV. That bootcamp must pay off.

So as we actually did two laps around the lake, Daisy stopped to see many of her fans (children), a run through of Target, then a quick snack - we were finally headed for home. I guess to some today would be quite uneventful, but I guess that how life goes... outside of the gates.
